Environmental education activities for teachers to lead

  • Lake and Forest Ecology Trail:
    • 3-4 hours
    • 11 stations
    • Group size: up to 30
  • Mathew's Shower Geology Trail:
    • 3-4 hours
    • 9 stations
    • Includes options for plate tectonics and rock panning
    • Group size: up to 30
  • Pond / Stream Comparison Study:
    • 2-3 hours
    • Measuring temperature, pH, dissolved Oxygen, and using indicator species to determine water health
    • Group size: up to 15 (but two groups can easily alternate between test sites)
  • Instincts for Survival:
    • 1.5-2 hours
    • Predator-prey simulation that allows students to tie concepts to fun and learning
    • Group size: 12-30
  • Tracks are Treasures:
    • Supplement to station 6 on the lake trail
    • 1.25 hours
    • Make local track molds for students to take home
    • Group size: up to 15
  • Tree Study:
    • 1-1.5 hours
    • Supplement station 3 of the Asbury Lake trail
    • Group size: up to 26
  • Panning and Rock Identification:
    • If you want to do this separate, or in greater detail, from the geology hike

    • This place-based social studies enactment offers phenomenal experience that can make your classroom learning come alive. Ties geography to civilization development to the need for resources and war

    • Physical elements requiring groups to work together

  • Alpine Tower:
    • 50 foot climbing apparatus with 27 different routes
    • Group sizes: 8-14, multiple groups possible
    • Junior high and older
    • 2.75 hours +
  • Pinnacle Climbing Tower:
    • 32 foot climbing tower with 6 different climbs
    • Group size: 8-14, multiple groups possible
    • 1.5-2 hours
  • Canopy Tours:
    • 7 connected ziplines and a sky bridge
    • Group size: 8 to 13
    • 2.75 hours
  • Tree Climbs:
    • 3 climbable trees climbed with climbing ropes and harnesses
